Hygge makes homes cosy and people happier…….

Hi, my name is Jeni Howarth (born Christensen – you’ll see the relevance in a minute!) and I am an absolute fiend when it comes to buying candles and striving for a cosy home and lifestyle! I have always loved being in my home – it’s not the house that matters, it’s the ambience created in it and the people you share it with. That’s what makes it a home.

I believe I have always Hygged (if there is a verb for it!) but over the last few years have now realized that what I try to create in my home and life is not just what items/rooms/experiences look like but how they feel and interact with all the people I love and my own sense of well-being.

Hygge has become an ‘on trend’ word not just in the UK but around the world. A way of living, of decorating, of dressing and socializing. It is possible to ‘hygge’ your whole existence!! But to me it’s not all about the commercial hype. It’s about simply being. Being in the moment with family and friends, cosy, relaxed and feeling good. We only need simple things to help create the ambience. Beautiful candles, warm throws, simple and stylish tableware and oodles of comfort and cosiness.

With some experience in interior design retail and my Danish heritage (I definitely believe my love of all things Hygge is in the genes) I have brought together some beautiful collections to inspire and create Hygge in your home and in your life.

PS. I love Nordic design, the simplicity, functional yet stylish concepts and designs. No complexity, just beauty. Nordic and Scandinavian style focuses on natural materials – wood, stone, fur, wool and glass. Designers are inspired by organic forms – mountains, waterfalls, ice, sea, fire. Out environment is precious, should be respected and protected and we should take care of it as it is our children’s future.

I am a great believer in reducing waste and promoting recycling. Where possible I will deliver your chosen items in recycled and sometimes previously used packaging. I would love it if you could recycle and re-use it again too.
